Wait wait wait wait. Where’s Jenks?

I was under the impression that if Geoff Jenkins ever got out of this horrible city of Milwaukee that was unfairly plattooning him, he would surely realize his full potential and be an everyday player again and probably bat third with the decent protection he never had with the Brewers and he would definitely be an MVP candidate, guiding his team to the playoffs and never getting booed.

Now you’re telling me, as a lefty, he is not in the Game 1 lineup against a right-hander? Well, this surprises me.

Jenkins almost as effective as man with broken leg

Tom Haudricourt says this in his article about Jenkins today:

As difficult as it might be to believe, Jenkins did not rate among either Class A or Class B free agents at his position in the National League when player rankings were calculated for this winter.

Actually, no. That is not difficult to believe. Here’s the highlight:

Oddly enough, the cutoff was the player ranked ahead of him, Washington first baseman Nick Johnson, who missed the entire 2007 season with a broken leg.
